Creation
In Ribbon was started in 1962 by Mr. Smith of Nanaimo, British
Columbia. One of the main clients of this new Vancouver
Island company was the late "Chunky' Woodward of Woodward's Department
stores and Douglas Lake Cattle Company fame. Mr. Woodward was
a very high profile breeder of Quarter horses and cutting horses and
his show ribbons were supplied by Creation In Ribbons.
Another
major function of this new business was providing show ribbons to
Nanaimo Kennel Club. Soon they were supplying ribbons to dog
shows and kennels all across Canada.
Creations
in Ribbon was purchased by Linda Morris, who had worked in the business
for a number of years, and she eventually sold it to her cousin Murray
Goldsmith, and his wife, Barb. In 1993 Murray and Barb moved
Creations In Ribbon to Surrey, in the heart of British Columbia's
bustling lower mainland.
Supplying
ribbons for dog shows had been the main stay for Creation In Ribbon for
sometime. In the last several years however, they have become
increasingly involved with horse shows. "Our motto", has
been, "Specializing In Dog Shows" but we've had to change that to
"Specializing in Dog Shows and Horse Shows."
Over
the last couple of years, we at Creations In Ribbon have added a number
of exciting new designs to our already varied selection.
